I haven’t eaten veg since my mom gave up trying to force me at about the age of 12. I’m 37, still alive, healthy with no issues. I maintain my position. I also don’t get why vegetarians/vegans seem to assume that killing animals is any more cruel than killing plants. Just because they don’t have eyes, can’t scream and can’t be anthropomorphised, doesn’t mean they don’t feel pain. Veg makes me gag. Tomatoes and onions are the worst, onions seem to get put in absolutely everything. Onion powder, not so bad so long as it’s not too strong (same with garlic) but crunchy onion bits or tomato, pepper lumps in my food is just horrible. I’ve always said it’s like some1 has put dog turd on my plate and look at me like, ‘what’s the big deal?!’ Or ‘Fine, just eat round it or pick it off’….. oh yeah sure, that’s not gross!!!
The reason why you don’t like vegetables its because you don’t need to eat them… All I eat is grains and meat With the occasional nut.. Just like my father and he lived a long life
Listen! Cook them with some oil and add monosodium glutamate.
Cooking them will remove the harsh starchy bits, some of the bitterness, and the oil will break things down.
MSG will remove the remaining bitterness, leaving them with a rather sweet/salty starchy taste, only the good bits
Now whatever you add the vegetables will take on that taste, I recommend cheese, make a cheesy cream.
You may also add things like soya sauce, the umami things help with veggies.
It took me years to figure this out >:c
When my Dad found out I didn’t like sweetcorn anymore, he was angry because it was the only veggie I still liked, so he forced me to find a vegtable that I liked & I got furious, because when my Mom cooks dinner she doesn’t give me veg because she knows I don’t like them.
Fruit is good tho, especially watermelon IMO 🍉, but I don’t like mango or tomatoes (yes tomatoes are fruits)
I’m eleven, overweight, 130 pounds, hate myself.
I absolutely hate all vegetables. There isn’t a single one I like. Hate the taste, hate the texture, just everything.
I can try to do a smoothie, but I’m not going to drink a smoothie every morning.
I personally don’t like roasted vegetables either. Not that I haven’t tried them, but they don’t sound appealing.
Even if they’re disguised, it feels like I wouldn’t be getting enough veggies. And it sounds like I’d still be eating unhealthy.
I’m not going against this video, but I’m just sayin these tips might not work for me. This sounds really helpful though!
I chug a v8 drink for my vegetables intake. But I’ve been reading lately that those aren’t really a substitute to whole vegetables. Green beans, corn and potatoes are the only one’s I can stomach eating.
My preschool teachers did this thing where they brought in those variety trays of vegetables to introduce veggies to us and get us to try it. I tried a raw broccoli and immediately threw up. Then they tried putting some peanut butter on it to help with the taste. Again, I threw up. I tried eating the celery and after throwing up again for the 3rd time while watching the rest of the class not have such an extreme reaction, I just straight up decided not to eat vegetables. Because of that little to none exposure to vegetables, every time I did try to eat a piece of lettuce or a piece of onion, my gag reflex is automatically triggered and I have to try and force my body not to gag or throw up. The only time I actually had to eat vegetables were at those fancy dinner networking functions where a salad was already at your seat and I couldn’t just pass the plate off to a friend like I normally would. I would even do this thing where I would just continually cut the salad into the smallest pieces to make it look like the amount on my plate was shrinking and then once it awhile, would swallow a forkful on that salad without chewing while simultaneously gulping down water to keep it down. By the end of the salad course, I was out of water and had a plate of minced salad. Here I am at 22 trying to get myself to eat healthier cause I don’t want my future kids growing up seeing me never eating veggies and following in my footsteps. Also, I wanna be a doctor and don’t wanna be a hypocrite telling my patients to eat healthy when I don’t.
I’m fairly sure my Asperger’s is a major factor. I have quite strong senses and certain tastes, smells textures can cause quite a strong reaction. Same with other stimuli through audio and visual which tend to be a more prominent factor for people with ASD. I wonder how many people in the comments have ASD, diagnosed or not. I would love for it to be that simple in order to live a ‘normal’ life and be able to go out for a meal etc. it can be very frustrating and limiting.
may not be the healthiest choice but I found that dipping vegetables in sweet stuff like peanut butter helps cancel out the bitterness and makes vegetables more tolerable.
For me, the problem is the taste and smell. I’m the kind of person that won’t have a problem with pizza (just cheese, dough and sauce), but starts gagging while eating a raw tomato. Of course all I can tolerate is avocados. And all my life I’ve been told I’m just picky and my taste will change. But it doesn’t. And the smell of raw lettuce reminds me of agrochemicals which makes me gag. I love the smell of plants, but not of ones I’m supposed to eat. Maybe it’s the chlorophyll??
do you think my parents not forcing me to eat vegetables when i was younger have anything to do with it? whenever i complained that i don’t like vegetables, they just cooked something else. now i’m not used to the taste and texture.
there is nothing healthy about eating plants like people have been falsy led to believe plants are full of anti nutrients they dont want to be eat hence why 95% of vegans quit due to nutritional deficiency cuasing a whole hosted of mental health issues everything they tell you about a plant based diet is nothing but misinformation
its one big deception for all tense and purposes of financial lucrative gain dont just blindly believe someone like this becuase there registered dietitian
Hell, the ONLY way I can eat any veggies is if they’re steamed t0 mush. Steamed 0r in s0ups. Which is a pain in the ass t0 g0 thr0ugh the tr0uble. My wife LOVES raw veggies and I just cann0t d0 it.
My problem as an example i can bite and chew an apple however i cannot swallow it and yes i have tried swallowing with water but feel really sick afterwards and have even thrown up in the past from it.
i was kind of hoping for alternatives rather than, "just disguise them"
Idk what to do. I can not stand the texture of vegetables besides corn and pickles. But anything else green beans, carrots, broccoli, lettuce, etc; I will gag. When I was younger my mom would force me to eat them but I wouldn’t so maybe that’s impacted me nowadays. But I do wish I could eat vegetables cuz I need to get my greens in and be healthier
I HATE vegetables, but I added a cup of spinach to my fruit smoothie and couldn’t taste it! I’m eating spinach!!! Lol. I did a cup of almond milk, a cup of spinach, a cup of frozen berries (blueberries and strawberries), half a banana, and a few chunks of pineapple. Tastes so good, you would never guess there’s spinach in it.
I’m 24 and I’m always embarrassed when I have to ask for my food without veggies. Going to get a taco and leave the lettuce on it today, we’ll see what happens. Normally when I try to eat veggies I end up gagging and throwing it back up after it’s down.
Reading your comments… I think that some of you may have A/RFID. Maybe look that up. It’s a difficult thing to deal with, but a very real condition that often goes undiagnosed and untreated.
I have a few, kind different tips from a person who hated all veggies and now love many but still struggles with some:
1) Roasting is great! but try par-cooking some before like carrots or cauliflower. In general I love mushy veggies, I don’t like the texture of most of them raw. Try different cooking methods, if you don’t like baked broccoli, steam it. Fry some zucchini slices fried in a tiny bit of olive oil
2)Smoothies don’t do the trick – add your chopped spinach to spaghetti sauce, soup etc. Add cooked, finely chopped veggies to omlettes
3) Do not skimp on seasoning – season your roasted sweat potatoes with bell pepper and zucchini as you season your chicken. The familiar taste of your favourite seasoning can go a long way
4) Cook dishes where the tastes are blended such as soups, stews, burritos – sneak a few veggies in while cooking – lots of spices, aromatics will hide it better than just some apple in a smoothie
5) MOST IMPORTANTLY – identify what you don’t like exactly – is it a bitter taste? a sour like in fermented veggies? is it a texture (too "wooden" like or too mushy)? Is it its "kick" like in onions or radish? Then try to find just ONE vegetable and cooking method that omits most of it – this is your gateway veggie

i fucking hate vegetables
I’m 17 and I’ve never eaten a vegetable. I dream of enjoying salads, hopefully this video will help 😛

i feel so safe here
There is just something about cooked broccoli that makes me feel likr im going to throw up

You can slice some veggies into chips and bake them. Not sure how many vitamins you get after baking them but I guess any is better than none.
I ashamed to say I barely eat any vegetables so this helped a lot
I don’t eat any fruit or veg/salad 😬 I’m absolutely fine tho I don’t feel the need to I am to picky so most dishes u can hide them in I dislike
I fucking HATE broccolis
I’m eleven, overweight, 130 pounds, hate myself.

Jokes on you, I despise things that a roasted! Even things I usually like, when they’re roasted – hell naw.
My Dad forces me to eat vegetables 🙁
https://youtu.be/iv5LfxYepwE I don’t eat vegetables, & I’m a nutrition professor. Here’s why my health is better without veggies
I want to like vegetables that I dont (which is most vegetables) but cant seem to like them
i’m trying to become a vegetarian to help the planet, but i don’t really like veggies 🙁

It sucks because I actually really like the flavors of most things, it’s just the god damn texture. I can’t. Onions and celery are the absolute worst.
I have a serious problem with onions they look weird and soggy
tip: dont say vegetables like 1000 times, theres lots of synonymous words
Thank you! I’ve got arfid and I wanna eat healthy but my brain said nah lol

Jesus loves whoever reads this ❤️
It’s so relaxing to see that I’m not alone in the world who just can’t eat vegetables
So your answer is add a bunch of sugar?
