  1. 5 cups of cooked carrots are 39g net carbs.
    So I think he’s referring to leafy-greens.
    Confusing.
    He says don’t count "vegetables".

    @Dr Eric Berg DC ?

What about things like mushrooms, broccoli, asparagus, brussel sprouts and onion?

  3. Deborah Boily says: September 18th, 2022 at 3:21 am

But, if you only use leafy greens, l agree. But l counted thr carbs in cucumber, tomatoes, peppers and cabbage which l love in my salad, not to mention half an avocado. This ends up making my salad pretty high in carbs..so l am so so confused.. please explain…

  4. Joseph Leahy says: September 18th, 2022 at 3:22 am

De Berg, Are you referring to only salad and leafy greens? Carbs in things like broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, pretty much any vegetable really adds up. Would you please clarify?

    Thanks doc very informative

  6. I have always loved to eat lettuce with cucumber and adding lemon and salt ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I never get tired of it ! I will be adding others to that

  7. Been doing keto how you suggest for past 5 weeks and already lost 20 lbs and feel so much better. No exercise yet. I have lots of chronic health conditions and pain. Reducing body fat can help reduce pain as research shows. That’s what I’m aiming for. Thank you.

What about cooked veggies with salt? I am from Asia and we have lots of veggies that are not on dr bergs list of cruciferous but i think they are healthy anyway. These need to be cooked (light stir fry) – bitter gourd, okra, ivy gourd, ash gourd, ivy gourd etc.

  9. turns out I’m doing 5 gram only ๐Ÿ˜…

  10. Iโ€™ve been doing keto for a month and counting veggie carbs. This is very interesting. Im still only producing moderate keytones and doing 25 net carbs a day. But i also watched the video on adrenal fatigue which i have and am working with my dr on. Going to keep at the keto and hopefully results will show in the next couple months.

Im so glad I found this! I ate more than a cup of pea sprouts and saw that it put me over my carb limit but now I realize it’s mundane. Thanks Dr. Berg!

  12. Please provide me with an answer-does this apply also to Paleo diet??

  13. Great information!! Cheers from Australia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ

I"m so glad, I love my green smoothies with coconut milk, plus I can add stuff willy nilly to my salad.

I wished now, two years later, after loosing 40 lbs, now having had gained it all back. I would’ve stuck with your method of a ketogenic diet. I was eating lots of vegetables. Didn’t have as many issues, as when I started to LIMIT the veggies. You name it, I dealt with it. Now, I’m going back to the basics of your method. Thanks Dr. Berg. I’m to be continued…again…#2021 ๐Ÿฅฌ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿฅ“๐Ÿฅฉ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ–๐Ÿฅ—

  17. Is more than 10 cups OK? Is there such a thing as too much salad? ๐Ÿ˜ Iโ€™ve been preparing gigantic salads and dividing them through the day. However, Iโ€™m finding Iโ€™m enjoying eating them so much, that even when Iโ€™ve prepared 10 c. I find Iโ€™m eating a lot of it during one non-fast period and thereโ€™s not much left for another portion later…. yes I would like to have more then whatโ€™s left over, later.

  20. Arcade Archfiend says: September 18th, 2022 at 3:42 am

Dr. Berg could you do a video on what we should eat with diverticulitis.?

  21. What about vegetables other than salad? I’ve heard a lot about salad but what about counting the carbs in say a tomato or broccoli?

  22. Thank you, Dr. Berg. How about green beans or cauliflower rice, which have higher net carbs than the green leafy veggies?

  23. Which vegetables? All non starchy ones? Does celeriac count?

  24. Jessica Barlass says: September 18th, 2022 at 3:45 am

So what whole natural food would you count if youโ€™re eating keto? Iโ€™m currently hovering just over 25g of carbs during my OMAD and thatโ€™s all from veggies. What is keto that would count??
    Thinks like peanut butter maybe?

  25. Wow. I don’t have to count veggies? Does that includes all veggies or just salads??

  26. Fenris Hound says: September 18th, 2022 at 3:47 am

For those pissing out their rear up your veggie game

  27. Andruล› Kryviฤenka says: September 18th, 2022 at 3:48 am

    Hello!
Could anybody help me to understand 1 cup Mr. Berg is talking about how many grams is that?

  28. All Rights Reserved says: September 18th, 2022 at 3:50 am

I am trying keto and liver cleaning. Having a hard time staying under 50g of carbs I start my day off with the blueberry kale kefir smoothy and my fitness pal says 46g of carbs my frozen California vegetables mix 16g 2 heads of celery 50g and my lemon ginger tea 9g walnuts 4g organic spinach & arugula 5g sauerkraut 4g this is all stuff dr berg suggests but I’m usually about 100g of carbs will I reach ketosis??????

I also have 2 chicken breast and a can of (tuna or 3 hard boiled eggs) 0g of carbs

  29. Great to hear this as I love my veggies!

  30. Thank you Dr. Berg! Eating 16oz of leafy mixed vegetables with my meal every day!

  31. Seems just like a normal healthy rounded low carb diet. Iโ€™m in!

  32. Eugรฉnie Lebbos says: September 18th, 2022 at 3:52 am

Well actually I eat more than 10 cups of veggies a day. Am I doing wrong?

  33. SpiralMystic says: September 18th, 2022 at 3:53 am

Confusing title. Weโ€™re still talking NET CARBS here. So other than salad, sure, but if you donโ€™t watch the other veg carbs you can easily go over your daily limit. Especially if youโ€™re insulin resistant and have to stay under 20 or 10g.

  34. I am 25 pounds down 65 more to go for 150 natural weight.

  35. I was having a lot of inflammation doing keto I added lots of veggies and itโ€™s perfect not a fan of veggies so I make them in smoothies with stevia is working perfect for me no crazy cravings sometimes eating feels like a chore because I know I have to at least consume 1500 to 1600 calories to have a healthy metabolism but not because I am starving or hungry itโ€™s awesome.

  37. Brenda Perez says: September 18th, 2022 at 3:57 am

Love this but itโ€™s hard to eat that amount of vegetables every day because of cost and how quickly they spoil. You would be constantly in the stores and cost would be high. I love vegetables though. Please help!

  38. My skin is yellow now from all the salad I eat

  39. I do I.F. (18/6) and keto. Can I eat the 10 cups of vegies spread over the day? Or just during the twoo times when I eat ?

  40. Lyndsey Rullman says: September 18th, 2022 at 4:01 am

This is legit probably my favorite video by Dr. Berg. Simply because I LOVEEEEE my veggies. I do actually eat the full 7 to 10 cups a day. I feel amazing too!!!

  41. Megan Tillman says: September 18th, 2022 at 4:02 am

I got a salad chopper after watching one of Dr. Bergโ€™s videos and it is one of the best things I have bought for myself. It makes it so much easier to have more greens in my daily meal.

  45. The Clint Commander says: September 18th, 2022 at 4:11 am

Well that really sucks. 7-10 cups per day?! I CANNOT eat any raw vegetables. I just can’t do it. I’ve tried so many times even chopping everything up as small as I can get it and still can’t do it. I cannot stand the texture of leafy stuff in my mouth and trying to swallow it feels impossible. I know I can do smoothies as well, BUT… without adding a bunch of fruits to it as well it just tastes terrible. I mean, I’d rather drink it than eat it, but why does EVERYTHING that is good for us to eat have to taste so gross??

  46. Hello. What about slightly roasted or air fryer veggies? Are we going to count the carbs for those veggies? How are we supposed to count salt/spices? Thanks.

  47. Do the vegetables have to be raw?

  48. Jรผrgen Kalowski says: September 18th, 2022 at 4:14 am

But what about Bell pepper, tomatos or carrots? Can I really eat as much as I want to?

  49. Tonya's Tresses says: September 18th, 2022 at 4:15 am

So if using carb manager to log foods, do I just not log my leafy greens…because when I do it sometimes say I am over my 20g of carbs

  50. DOROTHY ELLIS says: September 18th, 2022 at 4:16 am

    Thank you Dr. Berg
