When I fry fish in a pan I put a non stick baking paper under each fish fillet with a spray of oil .. stay beside in case but I never had problems. So easy to clean after and healthy
This is how we’ve been eating for YEARS! So glad to see this lifestyle getting the recognition that it deserves 🥰. Eat whole foods and your body will thank you 😊. So sorry for your loss
Sending my condolences for your cat. It is difficult to lose your pet, I know how you feel..❤️
Being Greek I confirm that yes, that’s how we eat..I feel blessed to be living in this country where it is so easy to grow your own vegetables in your back yard. Visit Greece!
Note: in a typical week we eat red meat only once or twice (usually Sundays), chicken once, fish twice, pasta once, and two days per week (on Wednesdays and Fridays) we fast ( fasting for Greeks means going vegetarian- eating vegetables, fruit and legumes, nothing deriving from animals). We consume healthy homemade desserts, olive oil is the only oil we use and we moderately drink alcohol such as tsipouro, ouzo, wines etc. The biggest meal of every day is lunch, not dinner!
At least, that is how we are tought to eat by our parents..
people walk a lot more in the med area, not drive to shop to shop so that’s a big factor. shop daily for fresh food and they have a cafe culture and across the region, they have siestas mid day-they are besides the diet that really makes a huge difference I
Mediterranean diet is the best in the world and the healthier. As half Greek i know that better than anyone.
Btw make some stuffed paprika Greek style, you will love it .
What a great video . I am just going to start this that my doctor recommended after my last blood pressure reading . This video has really motivated me . Very funny vid too except for the passing of your cat . RIP. I have a cat also sonic feel your sorrow
It’s so hard when something tragic happens and it drains us emotionally
I am really sorry about you kitty passing away. I adore mine….I can empathize.
Loved your video
Food looks great
It seems to me that the Mediterranean diet is a diet drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean lifestyle and cuisine, but it is still a diet with a selection of foods to have as a diet. They definitely have a sweet tooth there with tiramisus, cannolis, baked goods like croissants, eclairs, churros etc. But it’s more than everything in moderation, freshly made and an active lifestyle.
Sending condolences on the loss of your sweet kitty. 💕
You’re doing an amazing job staying on track and creating new and delicious meals….keep up the good work!
"An eating plan based on traditional cuisines of greece, italy and other countries surrounding the mediterranean sea" let’s just called it "loosely inspired by" because there are many turks, italians and greeks that would laugh at the idea that their traditional food is supposed to be plant based.
This sounds and looks like something americans came up with to shoehorn plant based and whole grain into something that isn’t concerned about those things at all. I would consider this a misrepresentation of the actual mediterranean diet.
Cheese consumption in the mediterranean is higher than you probably would expect, especially greece. I don’t know any greeks, italians or turks that would go a day without meat or fish/seafood. When whole grain products are consumed it’s not because those things are whole grain, it’s because they’re delicious and they’ve always eaten them.
Having said that I do think what americans call the mediterranean diet is so much better than the standard american diet. It’s SAD for a reason.
As a Romanian I have to say you did a great job, we eat mainly lean meats, and heart veggies occasional beans, but yeah basically everything you did is the Mediterranian diet and it’s a good one. We get so caught up in refined foods and stuff, in terms of grains oats are fine ,and brown rice is okay too.
I’ve been cooking Mediterranean on the down low and have decided to commit. This video was very helpful. 4 lbs in 2 weeks is awesome 👏 and was a noticeable difference in your before and after pics. Good job 👏 again love this video 💕
Californian here and this is the way I was raised eating, very fresh and homemade, shopping at the farmers markets every weekend, growing some of our own herbs and produce. We also raised our kids to have dinner with us at the table every night. In recent years I’ve added more olive oil and cheeses alongside our food and also don’t snack at all anymore. Ever. That’s very important. It’s hard to get the daily exercise, though. We live in the mountains and very rural, the terrain is very steep. I wish it wasn’t so hard to just go for a nice after dinner walk. It was fun to watch your good results from that delicious food you made and the great support from your sweet husband.
Gnocchi is actually really easy to make from scratch if you want to give it a try 🙂 another thing that is surprisingly easy to make is mayonnaise, takes 2 minutes with a stick blender.
Kudos for give it a try! I’m trying to follow more of the Mediterranean style of living… I don’t call it a diet, but a lifestyle. My biggest problem is I have UC which requires foods low in fiber. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
Terribly sorry for your loss! When my cat passed away I couldn’t even eat for days let alone try to adhere to a diet. It’s hard for sure. Good on you for even trying.
For people who unfortunately live with toxic people, I suggest just eating in your room with relaxing music or eating outside where it can be more quiet.
It’s shows with the grin from ear to ear that the “chicken” was in the plate.
He’s great! Very supportive.
If it sticks to the pan, yr pan isn’t hot enough

Loved what you presented to eat (being Greek Too). I am going to follow you for 2 weeks
Not only that, but there are so many Mediterranean cuisines to choose from. Lebanese cuisine is a personal favorite. Lentil soup is crave worthy.
Day 10 – you could have ordered a chicken salad instead of sushi!!
It is more a way of eating than diet in the united states use of the word.

Love it – We do not miss the meat either.
I’m interested in your portion size on your chicken on day 3. I want to make that but I don’t know the portion sizes
