I’m sorry but yes, carbs can make you gain weight.. it just depends on your metabolic body type. If I ate all those carbs I know I would pack on the pds.
It’s so cool I found this video. I follow High Carb Hannah because I like a lot of her recipes (I’m not vegan), but I also follow WW and just switched to purple to literally try this very concept realizing how well her style of eating aligns with WW purple. So like I said it was so crazy to see another person doing this. 🥰
I love making my beans. If you have an instant pot and in a hurry you can make them there as well (depends on the bean) black beans take 28minutes for 2 cups of beans) some beans cook in less or more time. BUT I do prefer cooking my beans in the slow cooker in low for 7-8 hours. I make my beans weekly at my house.
This is puzzling to me. How can I burn fat on a high carb diet? Carbs make the body produce insulin and insulin is a key ingredient to telling the body to store fat.
I"m a vegetarian, and I totally agree that we can get enough protein from the whole plant-based foods people think of as "carbs." Thank you for sharing your experiment!
This is such a wonderful idea, I think I’ll try it;; however, I was a bit curious about the potatoes and brown rice having no points, since I too am on the purple plan, so I looked it up on my WW app, and they actually do have points…..one medium white potato has 5 points and one cup of brown rice has 6 points. WW noted that although vegetables are primarily zero points, there are some "starchy" vegetables that do have points. Another tip I learned recently, when speaking with a WW Coach, that although all fruits are zero points when you "eat them whole", but when you JUICE the fruit, the fruit now has points……which was a huge eye opener for me, because I was juicing spinach, kale with apples and oranges, thinking that I was taking in all zero point foods…..but NOPE, if you Juice fruits, the zero points no longer apply; no wonder I wasn’t losing weight……just a tip. but I will definitely try eating zero foods for a period of time, way to go!!
LOVE this video! Especially the part where you show all the foods one after the other! I took a few screenshots to keep in my photos for inspiration! Awesome! Thank you!
Yes! Thank you! Protein is in so many other foods besides meat and dairy, and I agree. I don’t think we all need as much as we think. For a while, I remember thinking I “need” 100 grams (at least) of protein a day…I have no idea where I got that number, but after a little research the recommendation for a person my size is much lower.
I love the chickpeas, can’t stay out of them. Does your body react to this? If I did that I get the feeling at some point my stomach might get a little upset.
I stand corrected, I was looking at the GREEN plan in which brown rice and potatoes have points, but you are right, there are no points for those items on the PURPLE plan, so my apologies =) …..maybe I should switch to the purple plan!
I think weight watchers should hire physiologists to manage their plans, I would rather have rice free than potatoes. When you combine rice or potatoes with vegetables you get a complete protein . I like Weight watchers but I don’t like the personal points . Doesn’t make sense
Interesting challenge and video–when I was young I always felt great too and it didn’t really matter what I ate (not a huge meat eater then–mostly salads and never sugar!)… I was thin also because I starved myself–now that I am older I eat healthier but am much more tired due to stress, health issues and just being old. I am on purple plan and had lost 25 pounds–but I unfortunately gained it all back sheltering in place with a homeless man I took in who has severe mental illness…. lol 7 months later he is gone and I am struggling to get the weight off again. I do eat a lot of zero point foods and I exercise more than an hour daily–if the weight doesn’t start coming off soon I will likely switch to blue perhaps–right now I’m loving purple–potatoes and peas zero? Ya baby! Thank you for your video and good luck to everyone in their journey.
Hello! I’m a little confused about the purple plan— with 300+ zero point foods and 16 daily points, I’m assuming you don’t have to hit your daily points? Do you use your rollover points? Just curious!
I enjoyed listening to your 10 week challenge tips and that you are on the Purple Plan. Yum… crockpot beans! I’m going to try that idea…MmmMmm. Are you on Connect with WW? I’d like to follow you if so, and I don’t use Instagram but might consider setting up an account. Eating healthy is so yummy and bulk cooking (the topic this week on WW) is so fun so we’re armed and ready with goodies. Going to try to find the Part 2 now hopefully by following you it’ll come up in my library/feed. I’m enjoying and interested in your ideas- can you share your plant based birthday cake bar brand and your energy drink packets you mentioned. Meanwhile I’ll be looking for your next video. You’re super inspirational. Thanks!!
Thanks for another great informative video. I enjoy them all.
Quick question. Do you just heat your canned chickpeas and black beans? Also, do you add any seasoning?
I’m so happy you’re doing this series! I lost 45 pounds on WW eating mostly vegan, and I’m currently working on my last 5lbs to become lifetime. I was so happy when you switched to mostly vegan videos, because WW has so little content for vegans! I got so many good meal ideas from you! Last week I read "The Starch Solution" and decided to try eat HSLF to help lose the last few pounds, and I saw this pop up in my notifications! Just the motivation I needed! THANK YOU!! 🙏Also, if you haven’t tried the 2 ingredient pizza with silken tofu instead of greek yogurt, it’s identical!
What a fun experiment! I’d be curious to try eating a bit higher carb lower fat. Right now I say I always have a fat source at every meal to feel satiated. Do you find even without some fat in your oats it keep your blood sugar stable till lunch?
I wanted to do this too! This is a great idea! I want to do 0 point foods for 7 days. I am on blue. So we shall see if I can do it! What would you recommend for “carbs” on blue? Sense rice and pasta are points! 😩
Its so good to watch how WW differs from the UK. Lol. And yes we need carbs, i’ve tried the Atkins diet a couple of years ago (with my mom) and my goodness by the end of the day I was hungry, angry and tired lol.
I mean I lost 8lbs the first week, and I done it again and I lost nearly 14lbs in about 3 weeks. But to me its everything in moderation. Thank you for this video.
When you prep, do you freeze or leave in fridge?
Had you thought of nutritional yeast flakes as a source of B12?
Iv just switched from green to purple wholewheat pasta is on the list of 0 pointed foods 😁
The purple plan has potatoes as a 0 point food…that’s all I needed to hear.
Did u like the B-12 pack? I didn’t see it. I’m really interested in that. 🙂
Thanks!
Can you speak to how you make sure you’re getting enough fat with this diet? Do beans and chickpeas have fat, or do you cook with oil?

I THRIVE!!!

I enjoyed this video but I wasn’t able to find part 2 in your videos. Where is it? Thanks!

When did you go vegan??? I was watching your stuff on your playlist and you have animal products.
Why doesn’t she post content anymore? 😭

Love this ! 🍌 🍎

What is your crockpot recipe for the retried beans? Thanks!
Didn’t you stop doing WW awhile back?
Yum! I need to try your refried bean recipe!!! You rocked this week! 💪🏻
I’m so happy you’re doing this series! I lost 45 pounds on WW eating mostly vegan, and I’m currently working on my last 5lbs to become lifetime. Oh I love this!! Thank you!! I’m excited to hear and see how it all goes. I’m gonna try this too! Purple plan for me too!!😀
Batch cooking is the way to go!!! Your food looks so good & I definitely need to make those beans 💚.
What a fun experiment! I’d be curious to try eating a bit higher carb lower fat. Right now I say I always have a fat source at every meal to feel satiated. Do you find even without some fat in your oats it keep your blood sugar stable till lunch?
How are you eating the oatmeal? Cooked?
Thank you so helpful!!😊👍
This food looks so plain and boring.
I swear our food loves are just the same! My mouth was watering like crazy. Carbs are life! Great video. New subscriber!❤
That sounds great! I want to try it👌are you a Level distributor? Have you used the thrive shakes or supplements?
I wanted to do this too! This is a great idea! I want to do 0 point foods for 7 days. I am on blue. So we shall see if I can do it! What would you recommend for “carbs” on blue? Sense rice and pasta are points! 😩
I love this video!
What brand of brown rice do you use? It looks like white rice
I wish you had provided the recipe for the Pinto Beans……

So a plain baked potato is zero? Wow, threy used to be up there in points. I believe ill like this a lot better.
I would also add that even meat eaters should take a B12 too
This is basically The Starch Solution.
I love Poke bowls and always get them with brown rice. They definitely make my week wonderful whenever I get them!
