Im starting to hear people say it’s not safe to mix fruits and vegetables in a smoothie . Is that true?

  4. I add beets to my smoothies, ironically turning them from a green smoothie to a red smoothie. It’s that Nitric Oxide that I’m after, which widens your blood vessels and helps the circulation of nutrients from the other vegetables

  9. My recipe is water, plant based organic protein powder, golden flax, matcha green powder, cacao, fresh ginger, cuke, spinach, banana, frozen wild blueberries and mango😋

  10. Natural sugar is needed in a complete diet, like pineapple, grapes, oranges etc. Added bleached white sugar is what you dont want to much of, those pre-prepped smoothies can usually have added sugar. So in the end your own blended smoothies are way better. ALSO make sure to eat a small healthy meal b4 ur smoothie as our stomach needs us to chew in order to properly digest.

  15. I was all for GS’s until I listened to Esseltyn, M.D. today(one of the gurus of whole plant food eating, chief cardiologist Cleveland Clinic) : "Avoid smoothies. When the fiber is pureed, it is not chewed and does not have the opportunity to mix with the facultative anaerobic bacteria which reside in the crypts and grooves or our tongue. These bacteria are capable of reducing the nitrates in green leafy vegetables to nitrites in the mouth. When the nitrites are swallowed, they are further reduced by gastric acid to nitric oxide which may now enter the nitric oxide pool. Furthermore, when chewing fruit the fructose is bound to fiber and absorption is safe and slow. On the other hand, when fruit is blenderized, the fructose is separated from the fiber and the absorption is very rapid through the stomach. This rapid absorption tends to injure the liver, glycates protein and injures the endothelial cells."

Hello. I make something similar. I’ve ever used juice or nut milks. I always throw in some celery, frozen broccoli, turmeric and a dash of black pepper. I call it my super smoothie!!! New sub from Ontario Canada!! PS- I’m in love with my vitamix too!!!!

  17. I tried Green Smoothies for a week.. and ended up with all day bloating, nausea, joint paint and was super tired and couldn’t drive, my eyes were burning, my head was itchy, by eye lashs were irritating and I kept pulling them out, major constipation, and pelvic pain caused by extreme constipation… I was following Dr Goldner’s recipes.

    All organic Ingredients:

    Milled Flax
    Handfuls of Kale
    Cos Lettuce
    3 Stalks of Celery
    (Sometimes Zucchine)
    half avocado
    Slice of Pineapple
    handful of frozen blueberries
    Juice from half a lemon

and that is all… it was tasty,, but. the day I stopped the smoothie, i didn’t have the nauses, tiredness or joint pain or super bloating,, and eyes were fine
