As part of a well-rounded diet, fruit is wonderful. My favorites are berries (strawberries, black berries, raspberries), which have antioxidants and fiber, which aids motility/bowel movements. I have Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, Celiac, and Crohn’s – my GI team at UCSF are amazed at how much fiber (from all sources, seeds, grains, veggies, fruits) I consume every day, about 50-60 grams per day. As long as it’s well-tolerated, for us Crohn’s patients, fiber is your friend. π

Thank you so much for this information. I went on low carb/keto diets to lose weight after both pregnancies. It worked really well but I missed fruit! Good to know there’s a way to incorporate certain fruits and still lose or maintain weight. I’ve been enjoying your videos these last few weeks. Thanks again for what you do. π – Maris

I think a lot about sugar whenever i eat fruits. I think i should eat more fruits without thinking about that sugar as they have less calories than other kinds of food.

I love eating fruit because it help with my sugar cravings. I am a stage 3 ckd 69 year old female. I am on a ckd meal plan. Can eating fruits at night before bed like apples, grapes and blueberries make you gain weight?

I didn’t know you could lose weight with McDonald’s. I need to eat more fruit. I am addicted to sugar. If I could I would eat a lot of sweets, but I regulate my intake. Your videos help a lot. I am trying to lose weight and am having problems doing it.

One of the things I do each day is make a fruit smoothie, it’s much easier and quicker than eating them, and you can mix and match different fruits for delicious flavors. I don’t really eat kiwi but since you recommend it I’m gonna start mixing that in from now on. You’re the best Doc!
