Eating only or two raisins or a very small piece of any fruit can give you a blast of yummy sweetness when you don’t eat them in large proportions or regularly. That makes me appreciate them even more. In fact, that’s my psychological “strategy” when it comes to food now: eating less tastes better! Just giving up pasta, rice, bread and anything made with white, brown or other processed sugars is causing my weight to melt away. I was not “in a hurry” psychologically and haven’t touched sugar in twenty years so I’ve been shocked at how fast my weight loss has been. Also intermittent fasting; basically eat one solid meal a day, no hunger. If I do get hungry I know I must have eaten too many or the wrong kind of carbs, and reassess. But rarely have to think about what/when to eat. It’s just happens naturally. PS I don’t eat any animal flesh except for fish and dairy (plain yogurt, cream and butter). I also use almond milk and coconut cream for my coffee. And I eat a small amount of cut up berries with Stevia, high fat plain yogurt and a tbspn of sugar free peanut butter from TJ’s for breakfast. Keeps me feeling full for hours and feels like a healthy “treat.”

  45. Michael Moreau says: February 5th, 2023 at 4:01 am

Dr. Sten, your presentations are excellent… you have many skill sets under one tent… command of subject material… ability to summarize with clarity… very substantialntial diagrams ang graph material… comfortable learning and phrasing pace… exquisite focus of attention defining the "problem" or "challenge" in context… exacting due diligence in research providing a much needed "solution" to answer the problems with detailed steps to propell listeners forward and facilitate "taking action" on many levels… stellar work and professional presentations. One quick 2 question if I may… where or how might home made garbonzo beans and tahini for making "humus" with additional coconut oil, olive oil, and or avocado oil in the mix for added fat. What can we do with "quinoa" in the keto realm or is it too carbo for comfort. I am very sensitive in relation to insulin resistance. But I used to make tabouli with quinoa, parsley, pine nuts, fresh lemon juice- a golf ball size lemon, fresh garlic, availablecado oil 3 tablespoons, pinch of real salt.? Your thoughts on this matter are greatly appreciated. Thank you. Michael Moreau.
