Dr. Becky, have you ever tried bulletproof tea? I basically make a keto chai latte with black chai tea, coconut and almond milk (both unsweetened), ghee, and coconut oil. I also add some stevia, cinnamon, pure vanilla extract, and pink Himalayan sea salt. It sounds like a lot, but when whipped together, it is delicious! It reminds of a coffee shop order.
It would be really helpful if you could do a segment on high spiking insulin foods and low spiking insulin friendly foods. Both in vegetables, root vegetables grown underground are higher spiking than green leafy vegetables grown above ground.
Also which fruits are more insulin friendly than those that are high spiking fruits.
My problem with a low-carb diet is the amount of cholesterol in those foods. I have a hard time find the right low-carb items that are not going to increase my LDL.

Here’s a challenge for you. I’m diabetic. But I have advanced stages of diabetic gasteoperisis. I have to be on low carb, low fat, and low fiber. You know that vegetables and fruits are mostly off the table. Whole grains off the table. No nuts. No Soy, lactose off the table. This plant based direction is not something that I can go to. I’m struggling. I’m literally living off of liquid supplements at the moment. I’ve lost 18 pounds in less than a month. Is there anything I can eat. There are no dietitians in our area that know what to do with my issue. They get stumped with the gasteoperesis.
So saturated fats are not a problem for those with heart disease?
Approximately 18.2 million US adults have coronary heart disease and 805,000 Americans have a heart attack each year. (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2019).
Guess that a diet high in saturated fat is not an issue.
This is about meat, it should include plant based protein.
There’s only one thing worse than a slab of fat saturated beef, that’s is self induced narcissism.

I buy raw nuts and roast them myself, no added fats!
If your weight loss resistant you wouldn’t eat most of the foods on your list. Keto would kill me.

I’m lactose intolerance so dairy is a big no no …. I like oat milk and dairy free
