I have a question for you. My husband recently had to have a stint put in his widow maker that was 99.5 % blocked. He almost died. He’s not obese, he has been active and ate fairly healthy most of his life. He’s 64 years old now. He is supposed to be on a heart healthy diet. Will this plan work for him? I guess he is genetically prone to get plaque? He is on blood thinners and a statin

  16. Shawn Carroll says: June 6th, 2022 at 8:29 pm

Thomas, I’d like to try fasting for the first time in my life. How long should I fast to lose weight? Can a fast turn into a lifestyle or is this meant to be done intermittently? I’m not a big shake guy buy would you suggest any pre-made meal replacements like Ensure or Slimfast? Thanks for your time and great video.

Just started intermittent fasting properly. I’m into my 4th day, and although I thought I had a good plan, this has really given me a better routine and I will definitely be implementing this! One thing I was not doing was having tea or coffee in the morning and the salt/cinnamon is such a good idea especially as I was feeling a little weak in the morning.

  23. Abhishek Shah says: June 6th, 2022 at 8:38 pm

When you say coffee or tea, is that black or plain with no sugar/honey? I normally like honey with tea and sugar and cream with coffee. Will I have to cut those out?

Do you have a suggestion for what people can do instead of the workout? I have a disability and am sedentary, so don’t have a huge way to burn calories. Also what about staying up till 10pm and getting up at 8am? Just shift the time for everything? Thanks

  32. Ancestral Living and Nutrition says: June 6th, 2022 at 8:48 pm

    Also people should shop locally!

Started this a month ago. February 28th 2022- 262 pounds. At 6 feet tall. Now. March 28th, 2022. 243 pounds. I do train and eat healthy too. But it really work. And LIFE is a good app to see your progress. Eat between 1 PM and 7 PM max.

  36. Tamise81Op says: June 6th, 2022 at 8:52 pm

I really enjoy this. I needed to loose some weight and did this. Except instead of shakes. I broke my fast with a banana at 12 with peanut butter. And I k ow that’s horrible, especially if your insulin sensitive. But I can’t tolerate shakes, wether it’s whey or plant based. And at 1 I always have eggs, meat and sour dough bread. And whatever I feel like for dinner as long as it’s mainly protein. Intermittent fasting works really good for most people.

You can have cheat meals too if you would like. But honestly when you eat real food. Wether it’s a bacon or avocados. It’s really hard to go grab fast food and not feel sick

  37. Paulo Valverde says: June 6th, 2022 at 8:54 pm

Can this work for building muscle too? Thanks for the video!

  38. Everything Nini says: June 6th, 2022 at 8:55 pm

I’m just learning about intermittent fasting. This schedule will help me a lot. I like things broken down and made simple. I can’t stand too much detail into the how and why’s. I look at the results from people I know and that tells me a lot. Thanks for helping my journey begin. Hopefully in a few months I will have a good report!

  39. D. Leyton says: June 6th, 2022 at 8:55 pm

Hi, the 16:8 for how many days? Thanks!

  40. Luke Ylias says: June 6th, 2022 at 8:56 pm

I had to make some adjustments based on time I have. For example:
    – up at 6-630 (coffee shortly after)
    – walk the dog or just on the bike I try and do 30 mins
    – work from 8-12 (coffee only)
    – on my lunch break I go to the gym
    – once I get home around 1 I break my fast with a shake
    – a bit after that I will have a meal (still not sure what to have here)
    – then I snack when I’m hungry up until dinner
    – my partner doesn’t like early dinners so it’s usually around 7
    – 8 pm I stop eating

Overall this schedule has been suiting me well

  41. Michael Zich says: June 6th, 2022 at 8:57 pm

Thomas recommends doing workout in the middle or best at the end of the fasting period but what if my training is at 6-7 pm? I’m trying to figure out the best way how to schedule fasting period but I didn’t come up with anything reasonable. And I don’t want to fast for longer than 16 hours yet

  42. Kala Ganapathy says: June 6th, 2022 at 8:58 pm

Doesn’t really care if you are or arent a doctor. Imo a neurologist knows a lot about neurology, but does not perse he knows a lot about diets. A cardiologist knows a lot about the heart, but problaby not construction etc.
