  1. Have you tried the milk powder, is it nice when made?

Where are you in the UK. Karen from Prine of Midlife is in Scotland and Urban Homebody is in Kent. Sub to their groups. Both are quite new UK preppers, but they are growing fast as they post regularly. Both have a uniquely British twist on prepping. I’m on Isle of Wight. I don’t have a channel but I do give lots of shout outs to help channels grow.

Good stuff 👏 👍 I have only stocked what I will actually eat and I only have me to care for. I’m now on 3 months of cans and 3 months of frozen foods, they get eaten first. A full freezer freezes quicker and defrosts slower, even still a few hours without can destroy that stock.
I don’t yet have the means for my own power but I’m working on it . .you can’t exactly have a gene’ in a flat. I am looking at solar power and battery banks in series.
    Good video fella.

  5. You’re so right about the price of fuel.. they drop it a few pennies and expect us to celebrate.

Nice preps here, thanks for sharing and prep on 👌👍🙏

  7. Aldi do a good squeezy garlic.

The Idaho dried mashed spuds are superb. Always handy to have in the cupboard.

  9. Love your idea about monthly or so storage boxes. Will have to organise mine a bit better.

  10. Tinned ham is great. You can keep that for many years. I just used a 7 year tin from Marks and Spencer and it was perfect. Cool, dark , dry place to store and it will keep indefinitely. Tinned salmon, tuna, corned beef are all perfect protein sources and very versatile. I also stock up on oatmeal or porridge as you call it in the old country! You can cook it to make savoury rissoles with onion, chicken broth and day old vegetables. Fry it up in the pan. Oatmeal will keep forever in mylar bags with oxygen absorbers in a bucket to protect it from insects and rodents. I would also suggest cornmeal. I’s a great substitute for flour and you can make cornbread in a skillet or iron frying pan. It stores much longer than white flour which does go off after a few years even when stored in a vaccuum. Add split peas and lentils and you can make a hearty meal with the tinned ham cubed up and put into the soup. Keep up the good work. A little bought here and there, and it all soon adds up.

Only buy what you eat. Don’t buy it because it’s cheap as you might not eat it and you’ve then wasted your money. If you can spare between £5 – 10 a month you can start buying tinned and packet stuff which will make a difference to your good supply. I started like that and now have a 7 month supply for 3 people. It’s a great comfort to know I can provide for my family without worrying about where the next meal is coming from. Once I got to a good level of food supply, I started adding toiletries, cleaning products and I tend to buy the large pack of loo roll (36) from Aldi. That was the one thing I didn’t stockpile and then covid hit🤦🏽‍♀️. I only have 2 packs in my pile as one pack lasts us a few months. I put my stock pile in plastic boxes like you that are date marked. Make sure you have batteries for remotes and light bulbs. I’ve also got a stockpile of sweets and chocolates which I get mainly from Home Bargains as it’s cheap and they have a massive range to choose from.

I love cous cous and I’m sure it would make a nice change from rice and pasta if you had to go into your stocks. That garlic purée is fab I use it all the time in my cooking. Good video I love seeing what people are buying and getting ideas of things to put in my cupboards.

    💜💜💜🇬🇧

  15. Herbs and spices can keep for a long time and help make bland foods taste better, even dehydrated powdered whole eggs from Amazon and eBay work okay for scrambled eggs with a pinch of mixed herbs added, also don’t forget about the protein drink mixes in home bargains and b&m 😋 the Mars version makes a great pick-me-up drink and I’ve even tried it gently warmed up in the microwave oven 🤣 hot chocolate with a protein boost

  16. Ghee is clarified butter sold in tins in most supermarket Indian sections now. This will store a lot longer than butter wrapped in paper. Also get hot water bottles and fake fur blankets for extra warmth.

  17. For all those people stocking up on rice, don’t forget to stock up on soy sauce as well, it keeps for a long time and goes a long way to making plain rice more palatable if you have nothing else to add. Right now it’s about £8-9 for a 2 litre bottle but i expect that is going to go up before too long.
Also even though shrinkflation has hit tinned tuna, I still think it’s the best value source of tinned protein we can get in the UK.

  18. Mylar bags are better for long term food storage.

  19. I’m a preppier in the U.K. 😊 thanks for the video. I’ve been buying those mashed potato hope their nice. Look in Asda for half price compost at the moment.

New sub. Some great tips in your video – thanks. I have just bought tomato powder but haven’t used it. Will store it in Mylar bags. I like and keep a good supply if rolled oats to make a healthy and cheap breakfast along with dried milk. Add honey or jam for sweetness. Thanks for your videos and blue light service.

Morrisons Savers mashed potato is fab, nothing but potato and rosemary for 29p a 120gm pack which does two of us for a dinner. Add your own butter or cheese and they are fab. They used to be 27p then went up to 32p but now down a little 29p. You do what your able and don’t put yourself under unnecessary pressure to film. Always great to see one of your videos, we have a huge shortage of UK preppers to bring to light what we need to be doing, thank you.

  22. Like your idea of your weekly or monthly food prep box 👍cos I know when I sometimes open the door on my preps I can’t help but think what am I going to do with this lot 😉 …..but yet so thankful that I’ve got …..cos we all know hard times are a coming…..

  23. Gothica 1366 says: September 13th, 2022 at 2:48 am

I would love to see a video about your storage method I’m short on space and don’t have enough space to do the huge pantry thing

  24. Carole Hobbs says: September 13th, 2022 at 2:49 am

That Idohoan mashed potatoes is great, in fact it’s the best instant mashed potatoes from USA 🤗

  25. Glad to see you back. Pound shop do Pek for £1 a tin (chicken / ham / pork). Morrisons own brand mash is really cheap and very good, also their own brand microwave rice (Mr Ben type stuff) is also cheap and if needed can be eaten cold as they are already cooked and need no added water.
I’ve given up on storing flour and bread making stuff as with the electric price hike, I wont be able to afford to bake them 😞 so will use up my stock and replace it with crackers

  26. Keep your eye out for lidi super week. They do 48 cans of tuna for around £16 and the dates on mine were 2026.

  27. Hi there!!! New sub!!! Much Love to you!!!🙏🏻🥰

I done some “topping off” with about 50 tins of spam for my storage I’ve done loads of others but in the process of doing more for the huge cost this winters going to bring electrically 👌🏼

Grow veg if you can and herbs which can be medicinal, and also water filter (berkey) or something similar. Various dried beans/lentils, rice, pasta, salt and sugar very long shelf life if stored correctly. Cooking oil and honey.

  32. oxygen absorbers and yeast dont go together so take care with bread mixes. Hope this helps
