I noticed you’re Acim and I’m trying to get opinions so I can make a more informed decision. The law of attraction is so huge and I’m familiar with Abraham and what David Snyder says doesn’t work as advertised bc we have 2 kinds of thoughts
Conscious and unconscious thoughts and 95%+ are unconscious. So changing a few % not much happens unless over time.
But I digress. Acim these thoughts are meaningless etc.
and I don’t perceive my best interests. Ok. Etc
Vs.
creating my own reality. Get what I want bc thoughts become things.
This is a good reason to stay on ONE PATH. But how do YOU converge these seemingly different ideas.
Would I create what I want and it not be in my best interests??
It’s more so to do with the fact that your unconscious mind knows that these affirmations are false. You can say to yourself I’m smart I’m rich I’m successful etc. and your unconscious mind says no that’s not true. That’s why asking questions in the form of afformations actually work and affirmations don’t. Things like “how will I become successful? “Is a lot better than I am successful.I think it has to do less with the emotional state and more so to do with your unconscious mind knowing the truth of the statement that you try to tell yourself.
I agree that affirmations alone is not enough. When I was dealing with depression, saying affirmations felt and sounded phony. Instead I meditated, wrote in journal,& watch inspirational videos. After I felt healthier, then I was able to use and process affirmations.
You viewpoint on this subject is extremely helpful and makes perfect sense.
Positive affirmation work brilliantly for me, and with each affirmation I am guided by my subconscious mind on to the next affirmation. It is a lifetime of affirmations which I find enjoyable and all helps to improve me as a person each time.
I was taught to always label my emotions. Honestly, the judgements have been more destructive than helpful. This is great, I’ve never thought to forego labeling my emotions and just sitting with them instead. We think way too much anyways. What great advice. I will definitely give this a try.
Thanks for this video. Most helpful video I’ve come across in a long, long time. Kudos for keeping it real and practical. The LOA nonsense is out of control and gaslighting all of us. Its okay to feel negatively, if we even wanna call them that. They are learning experiences.
I am still sceptical of affirmations and need more evidence and science behind it to start doing so. However I want to bring your attention to Mike Tyson. He always mentioned he was weak, timid and scared of all his opponents. His trainer Cus would often if not always tell him he is a warrior, gladiator, decent of Alexander the great. Mike would himslef think of how he is a pure intelligent savage animal. Then go to beat the crap out of his opponents. Of course how he changed from that voilent person is something to so discuss about. How he realised he dint want to be that person anymore. That person was destructive.
Point being there is some effect of such way of thinking, granted that his training and practice was more important. But now focusing only on affirmations.
That’s why I always use my Tibetan singing bowl to raise my vibration while saying affirmations.

this is a very good video. Explained nicely why it doesnt work. Straight to the point and well executed. Thanks!
You really should define what exactly you mean by "positive affirmation". They are all different.
Good video.
