Whats really fun is when you write a full page of what you want your life to look like in the present tense and you get really specific and detailed about it. I was really introverted and suffering from a sort of mental illness from simply being isolated and lonely. I said my affirmation everyday multiple times a day. I started going to music shows at this warehouse venue (because i wanted an art community) and I would talk to anyone and everyone to try to find some best friends (which i wrote in detail what they would be like.) I learned to deal with rejection and became an extrovert. I found my friends and lived in a state of underground art community bliss. The problem is that affirmations are so embarrassing. I stopped doing them as soon as i got what i wanted because the cognitive dissonance was too much to handle. Its really embarrassing to know that other people magically get what they want and then I have to intentionally change my subconscious mind to get what I want. I partied and had a great time but when through periods of aimlessness because I didnt want to write affirmations about the next phase of my life. I struggle to read my affirmations everyday, because I the embarrassment. My boyfriend is very realistic , sarcastic, and funny, and i would be mortified if he found out what my dreams for my life were in my affirmation folder on my computer. Thankyou for doing this video.
i’ve been repeating full time some specific positive affirmation created by myself to assist my own necessity for 20 days so far based on the cientifical experiment called ( the illusory truth effect ) which has been done in 1977 and what i can say is yes it becomes true for you what you’re reapeting over and over and over and over and over again .and i can tell it REALLY gets stronger and stronger. the first change that i can say is that you change yourself inside(subjective) first – your mental Pattern,your behavior,your confidence,your feelings,your focus,your vibration and most importantly your BELIEF all of them really behave 100% as exactly you are repeating out loud or even low voice and even if the outside (objective) world still not changed that big the inside (subjective ) world is completely changed for real. another amazing thing is that after this mental Pattern change the outside negativity does not bother you anymore because now this new belief is basicly a shield that protects against anything opposite of it . it’s amazing
finally you start to see evidences of change in the outside world as well and this gets stronger and stronger andthen when you don’t even realize anymore this process because now this affirmation exercise is a normal routine for you you are already living the goal,dream,reality etc… that you’ve been repeating
So i recommend it’s worthy

MANIFESTATION gets a lot more science-y because there’s a little more than just standing there reading to yourself. It’s about the vibes you’re sending off. I’m like you in the logical sense and I never got on the bandwagon until JUST THIS MONTH! lol So far, I’ve found that the science stuff matches up with the spiritual woo woo stuff and I’ve only scratched the surface! lol Thanks for the video. at 12:06 when I read the 2nd affirmation "I am proud of my values and beliefs" I just started tearing up because I AM proud of my values and beliefs and maybe I don’t suck just because I’m having a hard time getting into a morning routine and I’m probably just being wayyy too hard on myself. I don’t know how those correlate with each other but that affirmation definitely helped me β₯

You did great for the shape you are in. The affirmation, when you start, is an out-and-out lie, and that is why it felt funny to say. The affirmation is a statement of what you are not but would like to be. So you are lying to yourself by saying it.
The affirmation is pushing against who you know to be you. The affirmation is changing your habitual, programmed self, and as you found out, they do work. However, it takes at least 28 days to change a habit. One week is not near enough time to change your habitual mind. If you have not changed your internal programming, you will snip back to your old behavior in a short time.
I have to make a bit of a rant… there is no "one science" or "actual truth". Science works with theories. Theories that are based on empirical evidence, yes, but that evidence is interpreted with theories. I don’t want to get much into bashing positivists, but there is very extensive research dedicated to the subjective. So the "finding your own teuth" is often a misinterpretation of that, but there is some grounded theories about individual reality construction: you are the only one that sees the world like you do. And that is such a cool thing! It doesn’t need to be corny. Reason and emotions don’t need to be separate. In fact, rationalising your emotions is a thing you should be doing π
"Not backed by science"? But… they are!! it is proven that afirmations raise or levels of serotonin and dopamine, which set us in a more positive attitude, improve our body posture and raise our concentration!!
